this just made my very rainy day. i’ve never played on the back of a bike trailer before, and so it was a really novel experience… but it was also cool for a couple of other reasons. for anyone who’s seen me live, you know that i like to be IN The crowd as opposed to PLAYING AT the crowd. so, it was awesome to be surrounded by a fleet of about 50 moving bikes as we rolled through a downtown toronto residential neighbourhood. also, it was awesome because when i got to the bridge part of the song, we ended up kind of coincidentally stopping to wait for folks to catch up; as we were stopped, the bridge of the song rolled out and my bike pals added to the sound by chiming their bells rhythmically to the tune, and it was just surreal and awesome and so so great. one of the highlights of my very illustrious rap career, for sure. then we picked up the pace again and kept riding to the next destination, dufferin grove park, where the Toronto Bicycle Music Fest continued. if you have any other video of me playing in the back of that bike trailer, HOLLER AT YER BOY: garbagefacemusic AT gee mail DOT calm these vids filmed very carefully on moving bikes by adam popper and james davis. |
